Post-Surgery Skin Healing
Post-surgery skin healing was handled with the assistance of pulsed magnetic therapy in a 2011 case study, when the patient was recovering from cancer of the parotid gland.
The patient was diagnosed with cancer of the parotid gland, had surgery and underwent radiation therapy in August 2007. His face, however, did not heal after the surgery and remained the same for the following 3.5 years (as shown below in the left picture). In April 2011, he started applying pulsed electromagnetic field to his face. The below picture on the right shows his face after 2 weeks and 5 applications of low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy.
Healing is accelerated because pulsed magnetic therapy significantly increases the proliferation and migration, and the more quickly this migration occurs, the less of a scar there will be. This therapy also helps phosphorylation of VEGFR-2,thus the activation of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and its anti-apoptic action, which means that pulsed magnetic field counteracts the programmed cell death in the genome and thus slows the aging of cells.
The patient’s face improved thanks to the regular application of pulsed electromagnetic field and its ability to accelerate the healing of injured skin which makes this treatment a good choice not only for patients with post-operative wounds.
